Next To You : A Book of Adorableness - Lori Haskins Houran- Mom About Library #6
The title says it all - this book is no joke, over the top, seriously adorable! The author Lori Haskins Houran, and the absolutely adorable illustrations by Sydney Hanson, had me awwing throughout the entire book.
"Next to You" is all about adorable animals, and how much cuter your kiddo is - even cuter than the cutest of wild creatures. The author continually raises the cuteness stakes- from a very cute puppy to an impossibly cute baby bunny. But no matter what adorable animal is thrown the reader's way, the adorable kiddo next to you is still the cutest!
My one year old enjoyed looking at the illustrations and so did I, this book definitely has broad appeal as I could see a wide range of ages appreciating the humor and adorable animals. This book would looks so cute on any book shelf and would make a sweet baby shower gift!
I love how this book captures that total redefinition of cute that happens after you have a little one!

MOM ABOUT LIBRARY #3 - GOODNIGHT ALREADY BY JORY JOHN & BENJI DAVIES
What momma with kiddos hasn't felt this way?
Pretty sure I say it on the daily!
This children's book is so adorable and I had so much fun reading it with James my eight month old. The story follows a bear and his next door neighbor a wide awake duck. Duck tries to find all kinds of opportunities to keep bear awake so that he will have company through the night. And just like a tired parent, when duck isn't keeping him up - bear is struggling to fall back asleep with all of the interruptions! Definitely a cute story that we can all relate to - bonus, it is a pretty quick read- perfect for bedtime ; )

MOM ABOUT LIBRARY #2 - SEAVER THE WEAVER BY PAUL CZAJAK
Spiders totally give me the willies, but this book is just too cute! Seaver the Weaver by Paul Czajak tells the story of an orb spider who prefers to spin his webs in different shapes than his brother and sister spiders. The book does a great job of providing a fun lesson about different shapes while also showing the reader the value of being unique and thinking for yourself. I enjoyed reading this book to my eight month old, but I think older kiddos would enjoy this read even more. Click the picture of the book above to find a copy at your local library.
happy reading, y'all!
